Salvatore Bonanno was a member of the Bonanno crime family in New York City. He was born on February 14, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York. Salvatore was the son of Joseph Bonanno, who was the leader of the Bonanno crime family from 1931 to 1968.
Salvatore became involved in organized crime at a young age and was arrested numerous times for various illegal activities. He was known for his involvement in loan sharking, racketeering, and extortion.
In 1964, Salvatore was indicted for extortion and went into hiding. He was eventually arrested in 1968 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Upon his release in 1978, he moved to Arizona and became involved in legitimate businesses.
Salvatore was also known for his love of horses and owned a successful horse breeding business in Arizona. He passed away on May 11, 2008, at the age of 76.
